Welcome to MEAN!

We’re Doug and Justin, a queer couple from Melbourne with a passion games and playing with our miniature dachshund, Yuna . In 2021, during a weekend getaway with terrible weather trapping us inside, we stumbled upon the idea for a fun new game. With nothing but time on our hands, we started making up rules as we went along. The first round was a hilarious mess, but we quickly realised we had something special.

Over the next few days, we perfected the rules and wrote them down. After some trial runs with friends, it was clear that our game had the potential to become something so much more. However, life had its way of pausing our plans, and a few years went by.

Fast forward to 2023, and we decided to revisit our creation. We started designing the cards and logo, just to see what our game could look like. This reignited our passion, and soon we were back to countless late nights, sending lots of emails, and planning tirelessly.

Today, MEAN! is a game a few years in the making, born from a spark of creativity and nurtured with love and dedication. Our dream is to make MEAN! the next big household game for family and friends’ game nights. We’re excited to share this journey with you and hope that MEAN! brings as much joy and laughter to your game nights as it has to ours.
